Don’t blame Microsoft for this one. The rest of the world moved on from ActiveX years ago, but thanks to the ROK Government’s loopy scheme to foster and protect its software industry (see earlier KER message, “History of ActiveX in Korea”), yet another negative Active X payback has visited the South Korean market.
Perhaps this time, given its defense implications, the Koreans will finally get off this software dinosaur — and possibly learn a lesson about the foibles associated with short-sighted protectionism.
